Scribble Coat by Sara Campbell

The focus for today’s looks has a black and white theme. Keeping the colors simple means you can really mix up the textures and prints while still keeping a sleek look. Black and white act like neutrals so, while we don’t showcase it here, a black and white ensemble is perfect for setting off bold and brightly colored accessories. Break out that chunky statement necklace and the matching turquoise shoes, or that coral bag and strand of brightly coordinating coral and pearls!

These looks all utilize the same fabulous Sara Campbell Scribble Coat. This coat boasts a very tailored look paired with a ruffle neckline and fun, flower-shaped buttons. The coat buttons high to keep out the occasional spring chill, but looks great fully open as well. The scribble print pops even more when paired with the geometric patterns in the following pieces.

Look one: Layers by Comfy

Look one:
This top and skirt are both from Comfy, available at our sister store in Blowing Rock, The Boutique Collection. The top features a bold diamond print and a crepe-textured layer along the hip, softening the hem edge and adding flounce and movement to an otherwise basic shape.  It makes the top incredibly versatile, looking just as good with jeans as it does with this skirt. The fabric is modal, which is made of recycled beechwood, and has a jersey-like weight and softness. But unlike clingy jersey knit, modal lays across curves and undergarments, revealing less and flattering more. The skirt has a lovely layered look, with a solid underskirt and a sheer overlayer with a longer hem to cover more leg. The unhemmed sheer edge gives a light and airy look. The two pieces work together to create a very multi-layered look. All Comfy products are made in the USA. The gunmetal necklace is by Alexis Bittar, and adds interest to the neckline.
Paired with the Scribble Coat, this combination makes a statement with the bold patterns working together. However, as noted before, the limited colors keep the look sleek.

Look two: Tunic and houndstooth skirt

Look two:

This ensemble switches the pattern to the bottom. This mid-length houndstooth skirt is by Skirtin’ Around. The skirt is a medium weight fabric with a side zip closure. Paired with the Sara Campbell Tasseled Tunic, the textures play well with each other. The tunic features tassels on the sleeves & hemline and a heavy texture, very like boucle. With the Sara Campbell Scribble Coat, the look is very clean and tailored. The open v-neckline on the tunic just screams for a beautiful necklace, and this acrylic and crystal link piece by Alexis Bittar does the job perfectly. Remove the coat and add this gorgeous Donni Charm scarf, and the look changes entirely, a lot more breezy. The scarf is from Donni Charm’s Grateful Dead Collection, and comes with a wing charm. These looks are great for the office or an evening out, and transition easily between the two.

Look three:

Retaining the Sara Campbell Tunic and switching to white slacks, this look is the picture of casual chic. These pants by Taylor Brooks are available at The Boutique Collection. The necklace here is a Reprotique Art cameo medallion on an adjustable silk cord. Adjusted to fit the neckline, it almost looks like it’s made to pair with the tunic. Finish the look with a large bag, like this patent leather bag by Ivanka Trump. Alternatively, grab a brightly colored bag to match some shoes in your favorite hue- don’t forget that black and white works great with those bright colors!
